King talks about financial education for families at the American Chamber of Commerce in Peru

The American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Peru invited Elaine King to talk about financial education for families through her work with the Institute of Family and Money Matters (IFAYDI). King, the founder and President of IFAYDI, created the institute in 2010 and opened its Latin American headquarters in Peru in 2013. The mission of IFAYDI is to promote the importance of financial education in hispanic communities. The institute does so by providing families with tools to create their own money management plans. The institute is pioneering the way families use, save, and grow their wealth.

At AMCHAM, King shared the results of working with almost 500 families. Overall, families she worked with were able to save 20% more money and reduce their debt. King was able to create more financial understanding and control for each family. “Everyone is now doing a budget and that is very rewarding,” she stated.

King and the team at IFAYDI work in conjunction to educate families on the four financial strategies of successful families. She and the team use publications, training programs, learning tools, and interactive applications to teach this financial methodology. With each family or group they share the importance of planning, saving, investing, and sharing their money.   King revels in knowing that after learning the four key strategies for money management these families are able to be self-sustaining.

Check out the IFAYDI website to find tools and information to start saving and spending smarter. You can follow their blog or newsletter to stay up to date with the latest money management tips.
